Abstract
This paper presents the findings of a study carried out by WS Atkins and Hampshire County Council (HCC) to identify available public and private funding sources for transport infrastructure schemes in Hampshire and to establish how best to facilitate private sector involvement in suitable schemes. The study was undertaken as a combination of research and consultation on project funding and private finance issues, and high-level workshops involving HCC and WS Atkins staff. It was carried out in early 1998 in order to allow HCC to prepare for the publication of the White Paper on the future of integrated transport 'New Deal for Transport: Better for Everyone'.
