Abstract
The Transport Department of the Polytechnic University of Madrid and the Consorcio de Transportes de Madrid (Madrid Public Transport Authority) have done a 10-year evaluation of Madrid's Monthly Pass, a multi-trip, multi-day, multi-mode transport ticket. This analysis will permit us to gauge the impact of a major aetion in urban public transport after 10 years of its implementation. It will also .address the first results of the introduction of a 10-trips ticket in five interurban lines. Both analyses are part of TransPrice, a project financed under the area of Transport of the IV Framework Programme of the European Commission and whose main objectives are: - to review and investigate the technical and financial options for integrated trans modal pricing in urban areas - to examine the pricing strategies, tariffs and generalised cost structures in several European cities - to evaluate the trans modal pricing and payment seenarios and actions
