Abstract
This digest is an overview of a mission that explored how public transportation systems can be effective drivers of economic growth. The study mission investigated how transit investments are linked to economic growth in the cities of Istanbul, Turkey; Cairo, Egypt; and Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa. The mission was performed from October 29 through November 12, 2010.
