Abstract
By funding early-stage, high-risk, high pay-off research in public transportation safety and performance, TRB's Transit IDEA program has paved the way for unexpected concepts to progress next-generation transportation technologies and methods.
Innovation in Action: Accomplishments of the Transit IDEA (Innovations Deserving Exploratory Analysis) Program highlights a few of the notable projects the program has funded over the years. These range from pioneering software applications to novel public participation approaches to devices that have helped make public transportation safer and more accessible to all riders.
